This Holiday Season, Give the Gift of Peace Education

At this time of year, we look for light to drive out the darkness of winter. We yearn for peace. Here at the Center for Nonviolent Solutions we are working to build that peace in our city schools and beyond.

We understand conflict is a fact of life. We know learning and practicing conflict transformation can help reduce the violence in schools, streets, and homes. Our courses provide students with the skills and tools needed for resolving life’s “fights” nonviolently, tools like CLEAR (Chill Listen Empathize Assert Resolve) and the Violence Escalator used to identify the root of a problem.

In 2014, our education programs brought principles of conflict transformation to hundreds of students in Worcester schools and in summer programs. We taught courses emphasizing communication skills and healthy power, trained peer mediators, and worked with teachers and administrators to develop an after-school enrichment program. Read more detail in our 2014 Highlights.

We could not have done this crucial work without widespread financial support from an array of generous individuals, foundations, businesses, municipal and state funders. THANK YOU!!! We know this work is needed. We know we need YOU!

This year double your donation!

An anonymous donor will match all gifts made by December 31, 2014! Your $25 gift becomes $50, $100 becomes $200, and $500 becomes $1000. Please give now and help us take advantage of this wonderful offer! Our small and growing nonprofit runs on a very slim budget. Our programs make a significant difference.

  • $75 allows a student to participate in one of our customized courses.
  • $15 every month will sponsor two student participants.

Principals and teachers continue to request our work yet schools lack the funds for course delivery, evaluation, and materials. As the New Year approaches, let us all do more than yearn for peace. Let’s invest in it. This holiday season, give the gift of peace of education.

Gratefully,

Christa Drew, Executive Director & Claire Schaeffer-Duffy, Chair, Board of Directors
