The Center for Nonviolent Solutions applauds Time magazine’s recent decision to name youth climate activist Greta Thunberg as Person of the Year.
The magazine’s cover photo appeared the day after International Human Rights Day when the UN declared their campaign, “Stand Up for Human Rights,” would celebrate “the potential of youth as constructive agents of change.”

We see this potential firsthand in the teens who are eager to be part of our peer mediation program at Claremont Academy. While the Center keeps its overhead expenses very, very low, we are lavish with resources that excite students about peace-building.

Help us keep those resources flowing.  Help us make 2020 a Year for Youth. Working for a peaceable, sustainable future, is an excellent antidote to the anxiety and depression that plague so many young people today.

An anonymous donor has generously agreed to match up to $5,000 in donations. Give by December 31, and double your gift’s value.

Your contribution will allow us to:

  • Pay facilitators for our peer mediation program
  • Bring in peacemakers as guest speakers. The students love hearing their stories.
  • Fund our spring trip to the UN

Many thanks to all who responded to our appeal on Giving Tuesday.
