DESCRIPTION:Walking Tour of Worcester’s Peace History \nWednesday\, July 8th: 6-7:30 p.m.\nMeet at Lincoln Square \nStories of Worcester’s nonviolent movements and visionaries come to life in this engaging one- mile tour along Main Street.\n\n\n\nCome learn about the strategic peace of Wampanoag chief Massassoit\, the nonviolent rebellion of 1774\, and Quock Walker\, the Black laborer whose case helped end slavery in MA. Take inspiration from the perseverance of local abolitionists and the Republican US Senator who defended immigrants. Actors take on the roles of the people whose stories are told. The tour’s one-mile route begins at Lincoln Square and ends at City Hall. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water.  Free and open to the public.
