Amidst summer’s beauty, members of the Center’s Board of Directors and staff came together to reflect and plan future initiatives.
Although not everyone was able to attend, this visionary and pragmatic group discussed the past year’s operations and activities and re-committed to preventing violence, especially among our youth. The “retreat” enabled discussion about future Board leadership, financial development, and most important, education and outreach efforts to increase impact and efficacy. Looking ahead we intend to work with youth both inside and outside the school environments and to more broadly engage with the community efforts related to violence prevention on a variety of levels. At the retreat we also took time for personally reflect on gratitude, our cohesiveness as a group, and to restate what draws us to increase the knowledge and skills of nonviolence. It was a restorative and productive afternoon at the lovely Broad Meadow Brook Massachusetts Audubon Sanctuary.
